Community Food Drive at Our Local Branch
Community connections matter. Every neighbourhood has families who could use a little extra support, and a food drive is one of the simplest ways to help. This season, our Brampton branch is bringing neighbours, customers and local businesses together for a community food drive.
Why local food drives matter
Food banks and community pantries rely on donations to keep their shelves stocked, and demand often rises as the colder months approach. A drive held close to home makes it easy for people to take part, and the food stays in the community it was collected from.
They also do something harder to measure. They bring people together, start conversations, and remind us that small contributions, added up, can make a real difference.
How you can take part
Taking part is simple. Bring your donations to the branch, drop them off at the collection point and meet the team. There is no sign-up and no minimum, and every item helps.
- Rice, flour, lentils and other dry staples
- Canned and packaged goods with a long shelf life
- Cooking oils, spices and seasonings
- Baby food, cereals and breakfast items
A few tips before you donate
To make sure your donation can be used, choose items that are sealed, undamaged and within their best-before date. Non-perishable foods are best, since they can be stored and distributed safely over time.
If you would like to donate in larger quantities, or you are a business looking to organize a drop-off, contact the branch and our team will help you plan it.
